On June 4th, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office participated in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.  The rainy day did not dampen the spirits of the runners or cheerleaders!

The torch run took place all around the state, starting on Tuesday, June 4th and ending with the flame being lit for the Summer Olympic games on Friday, June 6th. This is the biggest fundraiser for Special Olympics Maine.   Members of LCSO received the torch at the Nobleboro/Waldoboro town line and carried it up to the Damariscotta town line where it was handed off to Damariscotta PD.  The Damariscotta Police Department carried the torch to the Newcastle town line where they handed it back off to LCSO runners who passed it on at the Wiscasset line.
